Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours is missing, contact us.

About the check

Is your report a full accessibility audit?

No. It is an automated check, not a full audit, against WCAG 2.2 AA. By various estimates automated tools find roughly a third to a half of accessibility issues. A full audit needs manual testing with a keyboard and screen readers. Our reports are also not legal advice.

Which standard do you check against?

WCAG 2.2 level AA. Findings are mapped to EN 301 549: version 3.2.1 (based on WCAG 2.1), which remains the harmonised version for now, and version 4.1.1 (based on WCAG 2.2), published in September 2026 and expected to be cited in the EU Official Journal in late 2026. More in EN 301 549 V4.1.1 and WCAG 2.2.

Which pages do you scan?

The free check scans one page. The express report covers up to 20 pages. Plans scan a set of pages per site every week. We only scan public pages; we do not log in or submit forms.

Do you fix my site?

No. We show what is wrong and how to fix it on Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop or Shoptet. Your developer or agency makes the changes in the theme, content or code.

Do you offer an accessibility widget or overlay?

No. Overlays do not change the underlying code that assistive technology relies on. See why overlays are not a solution.

About the European Accessibility Act

Does the EAA apply to my website?

Only if you provide a consumer (B2C) service in a covered sector — e-commerce, consumer banking, e-books, passenger transport services or electronic communications, among others — and you are not a micro-enterprise. Use our three-question filter.

What counts as a micro-enterprise?

Fewer than 10 employees and either an annual turnover or a balance sheet total of no more than €2 million. Example: a drop-shipping store with 4 employees, €3 million turnover and a €0.4 million balance sheet is a micro-enterprise and exempt.

Since when does the EAA apply?

To services since 28 June 2025. Service contracts concluded before that date may continue unchanged until they expire, but no longer than until 28 June 2030.

Have shops been fined?

We are not aware of confirmed EAA fines against online shops as of October 2026. Authorities have started inspections — for example, the Czech Trade Inspection Authority checked 47 online shops in the second quarter of 2026 and found breaches in 10 — and there are complaints and court cases. National laws do provide for fines; see our EAA guide.

What is the "information on accessibility"?

Annex V of the EAA requires service providers to explain how their service meets the accessibility requirements. We generate a draft from a questionnaire for review by your lawyer. See the accessibility statement guide.
