Accessibility checker for your browser (WCAG 2.2, EAA)
Pandus browser extension 1.0.0
Free. Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and Firefox. In the extension stores: coming soon.
The Pandus extension checks the page you are on against WCAG 2.2 AA — the level the European Accessibility Act, the German BFSG and the ADA rely on — and explains every problem in plain words, in English, Ukrainian, German, Polish, Czech, Romanian or Russian. It runs in your browser, so it also checks pages behind a login: the cart with products, the checkout, the customer account, a staging site.
What it does
- Check this page in one click. More than 90 automated rules, the same as the weekly Pandus check. Problems are grouped by rule, the most severe first, with why it matters for your customers and how to fix it.
- Show the element. Click "Show" and the page scrolls to the element and outlines it.
- Required apart from advice. WCAG 2.2 A/AA problems come first; AAA and best practices are shown separately as advice.
- Copy for the developer. The whole list as Markdown for a ticket in Jira, Trello or a message.
Tools for the manual review
Automation finds part of the problems. The tools help with the rest:
| Tool | What it shows | WCAG |
|---|---|---|
| Tab order | Numbers and a line in the order keyboard focus moves | 2.4.3, 2.1.1 |
| Headings | The outline screen reader users jump through, skipped levels in red | 1.3.1, 2.4.6 |
| Landmarks | Header, navigation, main content, footer | 1.3.1 |
| Images and alt text | The text read for each image, missing ones in red | 1.1.1 |
| Text spacing | Larger line, letter and word spacing | 1.4.12 |
| Zoom 200% | The page enlarged twice | 1.4.4 |
| Narrow screen | The page in a 320 px window | 1.4.10 |
| Colour vision | Protanopia, deuteranopia, tritanopia, no colour, blur | 1.4.1 |
| Contrast | Ratio of two colours, picked from the page | 1.4.3, 1.4.11 |
With a Pandus account
Connect the extension to your account in one click (you approve it in the account; the extension can only read results and save checks):
- see what the weekly check found on the page you are on, with a link to the report;
- save a check of a page behind a login to the site — it appears on the site page under "Checks from the browser";
- add a site you are looking at to Pandus.

How to install
Until the extension is listed in the Chrome Web Store and on addons.mozilla.org, install it from the zip above:
- Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera: unpack the zip, open
chrome://extensions, switch on Developer mode, click Load unpacked and choose the folder. - Firefox: open
about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox, click Load Temporary Add-on and choosemanifest.jsonfrom the unpacked folder. A temporary add-on is removed when Firefox restarts; the listing on addons.mozilla.org removes this step. - Pin the Pandus icon to the toolbar. Click it, or press Alt+Shift+A, on any page.
Privacy
No tracking, no analytics, no cookies. The extension asks only for the active tab when you click it, and for access to pandus.online to talk to your account. Checks stay in your browser until you save them.
