E-commerce

Send product views, cart, checkout and purchase events in the GA4 e-commerce schema with items, value and currency, from the browser or from your server.

Updated:

The SDK uses the GA4 e-commerce schema, so the data you already send to GA4 fits as it is. Revenue is shown in your site's currency.

The events

Step Event
Lists and products view_item_list, select_item, view_item, add_to_wishlist
Promotions view_promotion, select_promotion
Cart add_to_cart, remove_from_cart, view_cart
Checkout begin_checkout, add_shipping_info, add_payment_info
Order purchase, refund

Parameters

Parameter Type Notes
currency text ISO 4217, e.g. EUR
value number The total of the event
transaction_id text For purchase and refund
items list Up to 50 products: item_id, item_name, price, quantity, item_brand, item_category, item_variant

From the browser

pandus('ecommerce', 'add_to_cart', {
  currency: 'EUR',
  value: 29.9,
  items: [{ item_id: 'mug-3', item_name: 'Mug', price: 29.9, quantity: 1 }],
});

From your server

Send purchase from your backend when the order is paid, so ad blockers do not lose it: server events. On WooCommerce the Pandus plugin does this for you: Platforms.

Without code

If you do not send events, the SDK recognises add_to_cart, begin_checkout and purchase as smart events from the buttons and pages of your shop, and reads the dataLayer of WooCommerce and GTM when you switch the import on.

In the dashboard

Analytics → E-commerce shows revenue, orders, the average order, refunds, the steps to an order and the products. Funnels show the barriers on each step, so you see where people stop before paying.

The Pandus SDK and the scanner are automated checks, not a full audit, and not legal advice. The SDK changes nothing on your site and does not determine which visitors use assistive technology.
